Hermana Jones Week 26

It is so funny that mom was thinking about me during the women's conference because I was sitting there wondering if you guys were watching it too :) I think General conference will be a little better this time now that I can actually understand what they are saying in Spanish. I really love every time president Uchdorf speaks, too.  It was super fun because all the hermanas in the stake were there so I got to see tons of hermanas from the mission which is always the best.

This week was super good but there have been some hard things too. Last week we were talking about how happy we were that Hermana Karne was going to get married and we talked about how if we were this happy imagine how happy heavenly father must be, but we forgot the part about how angry Satan must be. Hna Karen has been having a really hard week so keep praying for her! I know that every time an investigator is close to making a good decision Satan fights harder than ever to keep them from making these decisions.

This week was exhanges and I went to Independencia with a girl from Arizona who just started her mission.  It was so funny because our companions were so worried about us they called us every half hour to check and see if we were ok and called us first thing in the morning, too, but it was actually really fun because sometimes I feel like my Spanish isn't that good but when with you work with a newbie you really realize how much you have learned Haha! It was funny though because she asked if my parents were worried when I got my mission call and I said a little and when I asked here if here parents were worried she said no they are used to it because her older sister was one of the first hermanas in Russia and then her older brother served in Africa so she said her parents weren't surprised that she got called to Mexico her mom was like why wouldn't they call my next daughter to Mexico :) It was super funny.

Oh here I never get to be in third hour because we do splits with the hermanas so they can bring people to church, so my companion stays third hour with a member, I leave with hermana Thornhill and hna Thornhill's companion leaves with a member so my companion can be there for ward council and then there are two sets of companions picking up people for church. It is actually super fun.

This week I was reading the story of Lot and I love when it says don't look back. There are tons of times in our life when we are tempted to look back. Satan will try to remind us of our past sins and past mistakes to make us feel inadequate.  DONT LOOK BACK. Sometimes we want to live in the past but that isn't where the true happiness is eternal life is in the future not the past. There are some times that I am tempted to think of BYU and all the fun I had there and sometimes I feel sad but then I remember how happy I am here. If I focus on my life before I will never be able to work to the fullest and then that little temptation from Satan worked. Before this life we lived with God but we knew that we needed to move forward and get a body and become like heavenly father. We had to leave our father in heaven and our comfortable life to a life of trails and sorrow and temptation but it was so that one day we could have eternal life and live with God again. Eternal life is in the future not in the past! DON'T LOOK BACK! Look forward with a  perfect steadfastness in Christ.

This week we had a really funny experience because we contacted a lady in the street and we said that we could come by and then the next day we contacted her husband without knowing it and he said we could come by. They were both afraid of telling their spouse that they said we could some by, so the wife said to come by on Friday in the morning when her husband wouldn't be home and the husband told us to come by on Friday in the afternoon. So we visited the wife and then when we went to visit the husband we were like did we write the wrong address because it is the same address?  But we went and knocked on the door and yea it was the husband we talked to in the street we started laughing and told him that we had visited his wife in the morning so he told us we should just come back on Saturday and teach their whole family. It was super funny because when we came back the husband and wife were laughing but they are super good and love listening to the lessons especially about how we can be with our families forever.

We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day.
Love, Hermana Jones

P.S Ok I feel bad but can you send shoes like the black ones I had with a strap across the ankle or the brown ones because all my shoes are lilterally falling apart and its annoying because they are all at falling apart the same time.  I tried to buy some here in Mexico but they only lasted 3 weeks before the bottoms came off. Also triple antibiotic because they don't sell it here. Sorry I feel bad asking but shoes is something I cant really go without.  Thanks!

The picture is of a shirt an investigator gave me for Independence day. It says Viva Mexico!
