Pioneer Children Sang as They Walked and Walked and Walked....

Harry, Courtney, Hal, Tyler and I attended Youth Trek this passed week. We walked 25 miles in three days pushing a hand cart.  It was a wonderful experience.  The kids had a great time and learned some great lessons.  I'm thankful Harry and I got to be there as a ma and pa.  Fun Times!

Romney Rally in Vernon Hills, Illinois

We got to see Mitt Romney tonight. It was too crowded in the building, and we were a little too late to get in, but he came out to speak with supporters outside. Teresa and I brought Allie and Dan with us.

Lima, Peru Church

Didn't think I would have time in my schedule to make it to church, but was able to attend services in Lima, Peru, today. It was very similar to church in the U.S., just everything was in Spanish and it was super crowded. Four confirmations and one blessing today before the sacrament, and literally no extra space, with every chair full. I was able to introduce myself in priesthood, and they welcomed me, saying that it was my house (casa). Everyone was really nice.

Allie's latest obsession...the bento box!

One of my many favorite things about living in the Chicago suburbs is the multiculturalism. Some of Allie's best friends are from Japan. They bring these cute lunches to school in what are called bento boxes. This month, Allie and Dan have decided they want to do this as well. The Japanese moms do a much better job at making the bento box look beautiful but we are having fun with this. Above are some of their latest creations.
